Psychological Practice
I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Washington (PY61282159). In order to receive this license, I completed 3600 hours of supervised clinical practice across several settings and passed both national and state exams.
My training took place in outpatient community mental health, primary care behavioral health, and Washington state's inpatient residential hospital for children. I completed my internship in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Hunstman Mental Health Institute's (HMHI) acute inpatient and partial hospitalization programs for children, adolescents, and adults. Throughout my training, I received supervision and consultation focused on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I received my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from Antioch University Seattle in 2021.
Although it is not required for licensure in Washington, I completed an additional 1800 hour post-doctoral fellowship with the UC Davis Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science in partnership with Sacramento County's Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services program. There I received specialized supervision in parent training and early childhood interventions.
In my private practice, I regularly consult with colleagues who have expertise in Behavioral Parent Training (BPT), DBT, and the treatment of childhood anxiety. I completed the University of Washington Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Annual Comprehensive DBT Training and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) training with Eli Lebowitz in 2023.
Academic Involvement
I am proud to have served as adjunct faculty at Antioch University Seattle, where I taught Learning Theory to PsyD students and an inquiry class to students in the Masters in Education program. My dissertation explored how white children learn whiteness, and how white parents and children together grapple with dysconscious whiteness. I have experience with grounded theory methods, and familiarity with other qualitative research methods. I am open to serving on graduate dissertation committees as part of my committment to lifelong learning.
Experiential Roots
My path to psychology was winding. Before beginning my training, I completed a bachelors degree in Chemistry and Environmental Studies from Emory University in Atlanta. I served Americorp as an outdoor environmental educator in the Seattle area, I worked with the City of Seattle as a challenge course facilitator, and I received a certificate in Teacher Training in Independent Schools from the Teton Science Schools. I have also worked with various local private and public schools. I believe these prior experiences have shaped the way I connect with clients and broadened the knowledge available to me in my work.
In my spare time, I enjoy many things that take me outside or into my local community. As a testament to this, all of the photographs on this site were taken by me on my wanderings.
