According to the American Psychological Association, evidence-based practice in psychology (EBPP) is the integration of the best available research with clinical expertise in the context of patient characteristics, culture, and preferences. The purpose of EBPP is to promote effective psychological practice and enhance public health by applying empirically supported principles of psychological assessment, case formulation, therapeutic relationship, and intervention.
I draw from behavioral principles, the biopsychosocial model, and relational theory in my approach to EBPP, as well as my specific training in Behavioral Parent Training (BPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I emphasize the relationship between parents and children in my case conceptualization and suggested interventions.
Whether you are a parent, child, or teen, I rely on you to help me understand your identity, experiences, and preferences. Together, we will develop your goals and determine the most effective strategy to meet them.
